ABOUT THE JOB: 

 

The role reports into the Production Manager and is responsible for the management of all warehouse activities including the correct storage of raw materials, deliveries & despatch. The role interacts with numerous parties, both on and off site to ensure that the production activities are achieved. Leading and development of a small team ensuring the efficient and smooth running of the warehouse working closely with the production team to deliver materials to the line as required. Ensuring that all team members work safely and comply with company procedures at all times.

 

This role offers a 4 day working week Monday - Thursday, working 7am - 5pm. 

 

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure you understand and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements at all times.
  • Report any near misses, incidents or accidents immediately and promote a safe culture.
  • The accurate and real time completion of all stock movements.
  • Correct storage and stock management of all raw materials.
  • To manage, coach, motivate and engage your team, conduct 121’s and appraisals.
  • Report any issues with stock or equipment immediately to your line manager to minimise downtime.
  • Work and communicate with your team members effectively, role model the company values.
  • Ensure Goods received must be put away correctly in the designated area, scanned into the location through the WMS system and have the correct pallet labels applied. Goods must be rotated with the new being put behind the old and any short-dated goods must be reported to the quality assurance department.
  • Responsible for controlling the receiving and despatching of goods within the relevant ERP system to ensure live/up to date data. Refer to relevant work instructions. Ensure correct goods receipt process to ensure accurate inventory control.
  • Assist in the control of frozen and chilled ingredients when being transferred to and from the cold stores. Refer to relevant work instruction.
  • Responsible for the monitoring of safe and correct use of Forklift Trucks and any other mechanical handling equipment as trained.
  • Dispose of any waste via the appropriate route / procedure, ensuring any production/stock wastage is monitored and reported.
  • Participate in any continuous improvement activities, provide ideas and suggestions where you feel improvements could be considered, whilst being part of delivering any agreed solutions.
  • Be willing to learn and share new skills to maximise a multi-skilled team.
  • Ensure that good GMP and that high levels of housekeeping standards are maintained.
  • Manage courier collections and deliveries for raw materials, bulk deliveries and finished goods.
  • Ensure that waste streams are correctly managed and accounted for across the factory.
  • Management and upkeep of Forklift truck records. Advising the OEM if any issues with FLT’s
  • Correct storage of Goods, ensuring all stock is securely stored in designated areas for each type, which includes Ambient, Flammable, Chilled and Frozen.
  • Fulfil all attendance procedures for your teams, complete return to work meetings with any absentee immediately upon return and liaise with HR Business Partner for any areas of concern.
  • Where formal investigation into a misconduct, absence trigger or incident I required – support the process i.e. taking notes or witness statements and RCA activity.
  • Manage internal stock check procedure, to include inventory cycle counting, leading warehouse stock checks at period end, liaising with Admin team for any ‘ad hoc’ adjustments.
  • Complete regular safety audits, including racking inspections.
  • Ensuring adherence to driver rules and guidelines, ensuring all loading and unloading is conducted with safety as paramount importance.
  • Carry out reasonable tasks as requested by your Line Manager in line with department or company objectives.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Previous experience managing / overseeing a team is essential
  • You will have previously worked with a WMS system
  • You have previous experience of all aspects of warehousing
  • It would be great if you have experience of working with frozen and chilled ingredients
  • Have experience of managing health and safety audits
