ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Senior Brand Manager is a critical member of the UK Packaged Marketing team and has accountability for driving growth for a portion of our ‘Vimto’ brand portfolio - currently defined as the Carbonates, Ready to Drink and Energy part of the portfolio. We’ve got a great opportunity for a candidate to join our team on a fixed term basis for 14 months to cover whilst our current Senior Brand Manager goes on Primary Carers Family Leave.

 

The role reports directly to the Vimto Brand Controller, you will have the full remit of brand responsibility for your designated area. Working directly with key commercial, category, operational, agency and insight partners/ stakeholders, the UKP Senior Brand Manager will ensure the delivery of category leading brand plans on Vimto, to support in the delivery of consumer, category and financial targets.

 

This role requires a proactive self starter who demonstrates a problem solving attitude and the ability to  prioritise and meet deadlines. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate robust commercial and strategic awareness and capability. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are fundamental to this role given the broad range of stakeholders that they will connect with on an day to day basis.

 

In this role you will:

  • Line Manage and Develop 2x Brand Managers.
  • Drive profitable brand growth across portfolio areas of responsibility.
  • Lead the UKP annual brand planning process across areas of responsibility.
  • Support the Brand Controller in the 3 year brand planning process aligned to Nichols Plc Commercial Planning timetable.
  • Manage the implementation of the consumer brand plans, ensuring all activity is completed on time, to budget and is in line with the brand guidelines and brand positioning.
  • Define and oversee the RTM consumer and trade PR comms strategy and plans (implemented through BM) for area of responsibility where necessary.
  • Undertake monthly brand performance monitoring and define appropriate intervention as required.
  • Oversee the management of the marketing budget delivery against plan, working to maximise ROI or against other defined KPIs.
  • Lead and deliver key strategic NPI branded projects and drive the 1-3 year innovation and renovation plans for designated area of portfolio.
  • Propose knowledge requirements and work alongside the Insight manager  to determine the needs for qualitative and quantitative research and the recommended course of action.
  • Oversee and implement through your team where appropriate the successful delivery of the consumer promotions, activation and RTM shopper plans, ensuring best in class execution across all touch points.
  • Identify and/ or support the team to identify growth opportunities as part of the brand planning process and deliver end to end from ideation through to in market launch and evaluation.

ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and make an impact from the get- go and therefore are looking for candidates who have/ are:

  • People leadership experience and line management experience.
  • Significant FMCG Brand marketing experience (preferably Food and Drink)
  • Channel experience working in the UK Grocery retail sector.
  • Highly competent at leading and delivering brand strategies and plans.
  • Highly competent at developing and managing a customer plan and strategy
  • Highly competent at working with a stage & gate innovation process and leading cross functional teams to deliver innovation from ideation through to launch.
  • Experience of successfully working with agencies to define the strategic plan and delivery.
  • Significant experience of managing the delivery of through-the-line consumer facing campaigns including creative development & media / comms/ activation planning. 
  • Highly experienced commercial understanding and awareness e.g. Pricing/promotional strategies
  • Project management and strong organisational skills essential
  • Highly experienced at delivering best in class customer presentations.
