The role of the Regional Service Technician is to effectively deliver customer technical support services in accordance with the planned and reactive maintenance schedules and complete all technical support administration & equipment processes to the required standard. Supports new business acquisition process through undertaking onsite customer surveys to identify appropriate technical solutions for equipment installs.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

 

Regional Service Technician, covering Exeter, Devon and Cornwall area.

 

Whilst under training you will work Monday to Friday, however once fully trained you will work on call 1 weekend in every 4, resulting in an additional on call payment. 

 

You will be provided with a work van to be able to fulfil the below duties and responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for completing 2nd line reactive maintenance technical services activities via telephone or on customer premises in line with agreed customer operating framework including out of hours
  • Conducts customer surveys at customer premises, identify appropriate technical solution, logs RAG status and informs commercial team of output
  • Review DPE Equipment requirements and process customer equipment allocation
  • Installation of new equipment at customer premises in accordance with DPE install request.
  • Undertakes planned maintenance activities on customer equipment in accordance with the schedule.
  • Completes asset movement and uplift requests and logs returned equipment at depot/hub.
  • Assesses viability of returned customer equipment and conducts repairs or commences asset write off process.
  • Support the regional Delivery Operations teams to deliver products & consumables within agreed customer service levels.
  • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Complete housekeeping and parts rotation in depot and be involved in the monthly equipment and consumable stock take.
  • Develop good customer relationships in outlet.
  • Respond professionally to customer complaints, resolving where able to do so or escalating for further investigation where required.
  • Identifies potential sales opportunities and customer solutions when visiting customer premises.
  • Management of allocated vehicle through adhering to regular maintenance and cleanliness requirements and completing daily vehicle checks to ensure safety before use.
  • Ensure compliance to all legal, people, workplace & facilities management, technical, marketing and financial policies & practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all mandatory training requirements & actively manage own development & learning opportunities.

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Regional technical service experience, operating within a fast paced customer service environment ideally within leisure or hospitality
  • Working as part of a team to achieve agreed customer service levels or team objectives
  • Working in accordance with safe systems of work and standard operating procedures
  • Understanding of the Out of Home market, products & equipment
  • High level of technical capability across OOH equipment portfolio dependant on regional requirements
  • Fgas capability where relevant
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships quickly & effectively across all levels and influence key stakeholders internally & externally
  • Customer service and compliant response skills
  • Proactive problem-solving & root cause analysis skills
  • Knowledge of operational legal compliance (safety, quality, people, technical) and an understanding of governance frameworks
  • Understanding of safe systems of work
  • Asset stock management
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and change management processes
  • Effective organisational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literate and digitally savvy with IT & business systems
